I finally got around to installing the Defi Boost gauge into my STi! Check out the video on how I did it.

Plug the Defi connectors into the gauge, reconnect the -12V to the battery and turn the ignition on. If everything was done correctly, the gauge should perform it's startup sequence. Start the car and check for sensor readings. Give it a little gas and watch the needle dance - if you reached this part you are in good shape.

Next trim the necessary amount of vac line and install the line in the back of the gauge. Get your painted column cover and mount the remainder of the gauge pod and gauge. once you connect the controller harness....then wire the boost sensor....find a place that you would like the senor sit in the car....make sure that its close to the bpv or by pass valve (located on the intercooler)....i think i used a screw holding down the tube for the a/c....then use the t flange and cut the bpvs vaccume line and tap into …

The Defi vac line is pretty thick in diameter so you will need a large drill bit to make and enlarge the hole. Work slow and increase the bit size until the proper clearance is made. Below you will see the line slid into the grommet. 3.) Once the hole is made into the grommet, I suggest you route the vacuum line for the boost gauge.

There is one important distinction that separates all boost gauges: mechanical and digital. A mechanical boost gauge uses a boost reference to physically move the needle in the gauge. A digital gauge takes a boost reference into a sensor which sends data to the gauge via wiring and displays it on a screen or with an analog dial via a stepper motor.

The 30 lbs boost is more than enough and the 5 lb increments therefore are easier to see at a glance than other gauges that are say up to 60 lbs. Those gauges have smaller increments that are more difficult to read. It was easy to install in my dash and coupled up effortlessly to my supercharger. Highly recommend this gauge and the blue color.
